I loved the oiran and water presentations. Also the oiran parade was very impressive. I enjoyed the architecture and the nature around the wonderland. I tired various food, and all of them were delicious. The staff was very positive and helpful. I hope to come back here.
The oiran paread is exelent, and allso the water shiw, lots to do for kids,in better warmer weather it would be even better, but i went in winter, some snow made the old japanese features look even better
Just a great place to visit when in Japan!
It was really cool dressing up and wondering around the town. There was a lot of fun shows to watch. And history informeation to check out. Unfortunately it would have been nice to have a transcript for the shows as everything was in Japanese ( which is to be expected) . I really just wanted to know what they were saying. It was still enjoyable to watch.
Even in torrential rain, the whole experience was unforgettable. Woodcut printing was the highlight, along with the Wakamatsu-ya performance. The Ninja narrative and stage-craftafr was very evocative and didn't seem to traumatise too many of the children present. (Certainly not as horrendous as current television advertising.) The whole Edo village is very transporting.
The ticketing was a bit off, we did got rescheduled after we payed for the next day, luckily we hade some days to spare in our planning. The experience was amazing and the staff was kind, the downside was they were that they did not have fluent english but we got on really well. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested to learn some of the edo period of Japan and practice some swordsmanship!
Ease of buying the tickets and when we arrived at the psr, it was simple procedure to admittance.

I was able to use the pass when traveling, but as I bought passes for 6 family members and couldn't exchange them for a physical pass, we all had to walk together, which isn't practical.
It wasn't clear exactly which buses were included, nor was there a map showing the buses themselves. We thought they included all the routes in the area, including the lake and waterfalls, but that wasn't the case. Not all the drivers said no, or when we wanted to ask, they ignored us and ignored us. At no time were we able to find anyone who could give us instructions or tell us what we could and couldn't do. The only advantage we had was the direct route from Tokyo and a single bus, which, for what we paid, isn't that worth it. Disappointing, you're selling it as something it isn't.
It was very nice experience to travel with that pass, everywhere we do not needs to worry about the tickets.
We could take any bus and train, but I wished to have entrances with it.
I thought the train journey on Tobu line was included, but it turned out not to be true - I had pay extra 1,600 JPY for each leg for each passenger, so I didn't find it a very good value. Also not all the transport in the Nikko area is included. And no entrances to the actually interesting places. So I would not recommend purchasing this pass to anyone.
I booked online at 9 am , waited till 14:30 pm got it online
